Personally my favorite sport that I love to watch during the Olympics is the Rhythmic Gym especially those using different apparatus like the ball, ribbon and hoop. Also I am quite kiasu as the primary school I intend to enroll my daughter in has very good Gym achievements for their CCA. So I thought it will be a good idea to start training her now from K2 onwards. The gym facilities at this bishan sports hall is very complete and professional. You can see many children from various age groups at different sections training. I would say this gym is more for competitive training rather than for leisure. The coaches are mostly from China and speaks Mandarin. Some are quite strict and their tone of voice can be quite loud at times. The coach emphasize a lot on their warm up and stretching routines to prevent any injury or tear. They are expected to be also able to do the spilt sometimes with the help of 2 mats. They will also pair up and then skip from one corner to another to train on their locomotor skills. Although skipping seems easy but the coach will comment on their posture and gracefulness when doing so. Flexibility and elegance is their focus at this stage.
