The focus is on recognition of Chinese characters and confident expression of the language. ‘Hanyu Pinyin’ is taught throughout the year to prepare K2 students for Primary 1, with an optional 6-week intensive course (on request by parents) to help children master the subject. An intensive ‘Hanyu Pinyin’ course is also conducted for parents of K2 students so that they can also coach their children. Assessment of Learning Outcomes: •Regular ‘Show and Tell’ sessions to encourage confident expression • ‘Mini-concerts’ after completion of each unit to allow parents to observe and participate in their children’s learning

Each term there will be a theme which is appropriate for their level e.g. naming the various fruits, items found in the living room etc. This is to help increase their Chinese vocabulary. There is also regular 'show and tell' sessions and mini concerts after each term to show case what they have learnt e.g. the songs, rhythms with actions too. They also does some art and craft for that word they have learnt to better remember them I should say. Teachers are all native speakers. They will introduce han yu pin ying only in K2 level. I am not sure if it is more academic than other centres like Berries as I have no experience with them. There's no homework though but just that I prefer to do some revision with my kid for preparation of the mini concerts.
