My child joined for a year starting with Nursery class. I find improvement in her and even her teachers in her preschool had commented on her improvement as well. She loves going to the weekly class and loves to read the books she borrowed. In the past she would just flip through the books seeing the picture. Now she would be more interested in figuring out how to make out each words using the phonics that she was taught. But of cos these books we borrowed from the library are simple books but I'm happy that she has cultivated the love for reading. Though her teacher in Morris Allen are all native teachers, she doesn't speak like them with that ang moh accent. Maybe 1.5 hrs exposure a week does not impact much on this. You may try to request for a trial class and sit in as well to judge if you like the structure of the lesson and the way the teacher rapport with the kids. The teachers are generally very friendly and all of them always give a smile to parents they meet. There's also like a mini library in each classroom where the kids can actually browse or borrow them while waiting for the class to start.
