Registered for a parent workshop at their Macdonald Branch in Orchard. It comes with a free English and Math assessment of my daughter who is 4 years old. With the assessment, the teacher will then decide which level class to place her. The students are grouped based on their proficiency and not by their age group. Their course fee is on the steep side. Regular prices are $320 per subject for 1 hr each week i.e. its about $80 per lesson. I decided to sign up for both English and Math which means its a 2hr back to back lesson each week. The standard is quite high I would say. At level 2, they are already doing comprehension, composition, cloze passage, spelling. Their spelling has those traditional word spelling, phonics spelling and also sight word spelling. For Math, they are already teaching addition and subtraction beyond 3 digits. Hopefully my daughter is still able to cope and not feel all that stress. Still in the midst of monitoring her interest and progress.
